Gazprom does not have enough gas?

The gas export monopoly is struggling to meet its export obligations.

The cold snap has led to an increase in gas demand in Russia and across Europe. Gazprom reportedly limited supplies to its largest foreign market, Europe, to cover the increase in domestic demand.
Later, the company stated: "Despite an increase in gas consumption in Russia due to severe frosts, Gazprom continues to fulfill its contractual obligations to its European customers."
Gazprom provides about a quarter of Europe's total gas imports, and supply cuts in the past, due to Ukraine, have been a concern for consumers.
The European Commission said that gas deliveries to Italy via the Austrian border were down 10 percent from normal levels.
For its part, Gazprom announced that the pumping capacity of the Blue Stream pipeline (via Turkey) is operating at full capacity, and the gas flow capacity of the Yamal-Europe pipeline has been increased by 20%.
Last year Russia supplied 150 billion cubic meters of gas to Europe and plans to increase this year to 164 billion cubic meters.
