How to connect to a VPS server from the terminal MetaTrader 4
Automated trading using trade experts has long gained wide popularity among traders. However, robots have one peculiarity - for their correct trading it is necessary for the terminal to be running around the clock. Naturally, a constantly turned on computer is, at a minimum, uncomfortable, so for round-the-clock trading robots are used VPS servers.
Almost every broker provides its clients with VPS servers. There are also many third-party hosts with the same offer. The whole difference is in the price required and the quality of the services provided.
However, it is unlikely that many even experienced traders know that You can connect to a VPS server directly from your MetaTrader 4 terminal.
Connecting to a VPS server from the MetaTrader 4 platform
In order to connect to VPS from the trading terminal, you need to open the tab "Navigator" and right-click on your trading account number. In the context menu that appears, click on "Select virtual server".
After that the Virtual Hosting Setup Wizard window opens.
Click "Next" and you'll see the login window. If you already have an MQL5.community account, you should enter your login and password, if not, you can register directly in this window, it will not take much time.
After passing the authorization procedure, the trader receives a window with short instructions on how to prepare the terminal for migration to the VPS server.
After reading the instructions and clicking the "Next" button, we get to the window for selecting a virtual server. It is recommended to choose the server with the minimum ping value.
After selecting the appropriate server, go to the tariff window and choose the appropriate tariff for us. To test a VPS server, fortrader.org magazine recommends choosing the minimum lease term.
After selecting a tariff and clicking "Next", we go to the window, where all the available payment methods are displayed.
Accept congratulations on the virtual hosting and choose what data we will transfer to the VPS server. If for some reason the terminal is not configured for the transfer, it can be postponed by selecting the last item from the proposed menu.
