Money Management Tips for Mid-Term Trading

Money Management The following tips on Money Management for These are not axioms for other types of trading (especially intraday trading). They are not axioms and will differ significantly for other types of trading (especially intraday trading). However, these are the basic theses I use, and they do not fail me.

1. Always use limit orders и stop orders or place locking pending orders.

2. Exposing stop orders и Take ProfitsIf the TP is half as much as the SL, then the winning trades should be at least twice as much.

3. Stop order location should not be closer than 40-50 pips relative to the entry point. Orders closer to it are doomed, because at the moment of entering the market you, most likely, will not be able to catch the very bottom. The error, as a rule, is equal to 10-15 pips, plus spread 5 pips. Taking into account the market noise, which is 10-15 pips, we conclude that stop orders placed closer than 40-50 pips from the entry point, with almost zero probability will survive the position.

4. In accordance with paragraphs 2, 3, we conclude that the location Take Profit orders should be no closer than 80-100 pips relative to the entry point. Such money management strategy reduces the broker factor (attempts to reduce the trader's profit by means of so-called slip-ups, i.e. shifting the quotation at closing the position against the client) to a minimum. The value of slipage will be negligible for you.

5. Having a stop order of 40-50 pips and Take Profit If the price does not move in the direction you want, it will move against you, and you should not wait for a stop order to trigger. In case the price does not move in the direction you want - it will move against you, and to wait until the stop order is triggered, in this case, is not worth it.

6. Bail not more than 10% Deposits.

7. Do not make trades that may result in losses exceeding 5% of the deposit.

8. Move the Take Profit and/or Stop Order only in the directions of profit growth - to reduce your losses. Don't abuse it - a stray tick can lick your stop, which is already too close to the current price, and the price will approach the limit without your participation.

Good luck and big profits!
