The main functions of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia are:

  • control over compliance with antimonopoly legislation, including in the electric power industry, the use of land, subsoil, water and other natural resources;
  • supervision and control over compliance with the legislation on natural monopolies;
  • supervision and control of compliance with advertising laws;
  • control in the area of placement of orders for the supply of goods, work and services for federal state needs (except for the powers to control in the area of placement of orders for the supply of goods, work and services under the state defense order, as well as in the area of placement of orders for the supply of goods, work and services for federal state needs not related to the state defense order, information on which constitutes a state secret);
  • control in the field of placement of orders for the supply of goods, works, services for the needs of the subjects of Russia and municipal needs in the cases and in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of Russia on the placement of orders;
  • control over foreign investments in business companies of strategic importance for national defense and state security.
