MetaTrader 5 - the future on , from which you can't escape
Why do novice brokers choose MT4? The MetaTrader4 trading platform is incredibly popular, despite its advanced age. It appeared in 2005, but even now, 11 years later, 80% traders and brokers are still working on it. Not surprisingly, many beginners brokers choose it as their main trading platform. This is a reliable, efficient and cost-effective solution for those who start with limited investment capital and cannot afford several trading platforms at once. However, in this case, the cost of an additional platform is not cancelled, but postponed to a later date, because you still have to switch to MT5.
Why can't you do without MT5 anyway?
There was no love at first sight for MetaTrader 5. Unlike its predecessor, the "Five" has to conquer the market with hard work, but a number of advantages and new features make it attractive to many professional traders, as well as to the so-called Millennial generation, whose share in the trading environment is steadily growing.
In addition, MetaQuotes has announced that it is betting on the development of this platform and plans to phase out support for MT4 completely.
Main advantages of MetaTrader 5
Scalability. You can connect an unlimited number of accounts in MT5. This means that the broker does not have to buy additional servers when his base of traders crosses a certain threshold. It is enough to purchase additional modules, which will save money and time.
Functionality. "Depth of Market" and "one-click" trading are the two main functional advantages of MT 5 over the old version. In addition, the simplicity and intuitiveness attracts young traders who have not had time to form a subjective attachment to another platform.
Multi-activity. The MetaTrader 5 platform is focused on trading a wide range of assets, including stocks, futures, options and many other exchange-traded instruments, from a single account. This provides traders with additional features hedging and expands the range of investment strategies available.
Position accounting system. MT5 was originally designed for professional exchange trading with netting of positions. However, in one of the latest releases of MetaTrader 5, MetaQuotes added a hedging system, thus removing the last barrier that stopped many traders and brokers from switching to the new platform.
Third-party support. Plugin and add-on companies are also switching to the new version of MT, focusing on MetaQuotes global strategy. Fintech companies are upgrading their services to MT 5 to meet the demands of brokers and clients working on this platform.
Despite the fact that MetaTrader 4 has not yet exhausted its potential, its age is already over. The new generation of traders is more likely to choose MT5, which is designed to keep up with the latest trends in financial markets. This means that it will gradually replace its predecessor, which has already stopped its development.
Until MT5 has the ability to open many differently directed orders in one window for one pair, MT5 is out of the question. The absence of this feature erases all the features and makes MT5 a deliberately flawed system.
