Russian oil to leave Polish terminal

The Polish port city of Gdansk on the Baltic Sea coast has been removed from the list of Russian oil export ports.
The Polish terminal became unnecessary after the launch of the new Russian terminal Ust-Luga in the Gulf of Finland.
For 40 years, the Druzhba pipeline, the northern part of which runs through Belarus and Poland to Germany, has been the most important route for oil shipments from Russia. The Naftoport terminal in Gdansk, which transports oil from the nearest point, Plock, of the Druzhba pipeline, played a significant role in the transit of black gold.
"In the first quarter of this year, Russia exported 3.8 million tons of oil through the Gdansk terminal, but there are no more orders," said Dariusz Kobiereski, president of Naftoport terminal.
Naftoport earned 11 million zlotys in 2011, of which 30 percent was due to Russian oil exports.
