McGinley Dynamic trading indicator - is an alternative to the popular to the Moving Average trend indicator for the trading terminal MetaTrader 5.
The McGinley Dynamic indicator was developed by John R. McGinley, who believed that moving averages should not be used as trading systems or signal generators, but instead should be used as smoothing mechanisms.
The McGinley Dynamic indicator has only two adjustable parameters:
- Period - calculation period;
- Smoothing - the smoothing coefficient.
