Sinc MA - trend indicator (a variant of the moving average)
Indicator sinc MA belongs to the family of moving averages, and therefore is trending indicator. Conventional moving averages smooth the data based on oscillation filtering. Filters usually have delays, indicators which apply smooth functions to price series do not have such disadvantages.
This indicator is based on a similar idea, but a mathematical concept of a wavelet is used as a function for smoothing. The function used for smoothing is sinc(x) = sin(pi*x) / (pi*x). The author slightly modernized the function by adding an additional multiplier: wave(x,Q) = sinc(x)*(1 + Q*x^2) / (1 + x^2).
ForTrader.org comments: sinc MA indicator refers to the moving averages, which means that with all the advantages it has also received the disadvantages of this type, the most important of which is redrawing. Therefore, it is quite difficult to use it. However, if you use the standard moving averages in your work, perhaps a little more speedy sinc MA will suit you.
